DharuraFasta is a specialized health microinsurance product that bridges this critical gap. It provides rapid emergency medical evacuation, ensuring members are transported from their homes to a healthcare facility and between lower- and higher-level facilities when government ambulances are unavailable.
DharuraFasta directly addresses the four major delays in accessing emergency care:
- Decision-making: It eliminates the hesitation patients may feel, as they know exactly how to get help.
- Transport coordination: It removes the frantic search for a ride by coordinating a network of providers.
- Travel time: It minimizes dangerous delays by getting patients to the right facility quickly.
- Treatment: It ensures timely medical attention by facilitating efficient transport to a capable facility.
As of August 2025, DharuraFasta has achieved significant milestones:
- 1,269 Community Health Workers have been trained to provide first aid and identify danger signs.
- 2,368 private transport providers have been contracted and trained to offer reliable referral services.
- 3,712 beneficiaries have been transported to healthcare facilities, ensuring they received timely medical attention.
- 58,438 individuals and 432 villages have enrolled as members, enhancing their access to emergency medical services.
- 431 healthcare facility in-charges have been empowered to effectively coordinate the evacuation process, especially for pregnant women and children.
These achievements highlight DharuraFasta's commitment to improving emergency healthcare and strengthening the overall health system in its areas of operation.
